Authorship & Contributorship
Who qualifies as an author, and how contributions are recognised.
Authorship criteria
All listed authors must have made a genuine, substantive scholarly contribution to the work — in conception, design, data analysis, or drafting/revising the manuscript — and must approve the final submitted version. Authorship is never granted or withheld based on nationality, institutional origin, or ability to pay.
International collaboration
e-IPH encourages meaningful international research collaboration where academically appropriate. All listed authors must satisfy the journal's authorship and contributorship requirements above; collaboration is welcomed, not mandated as a condition of publication.
Order of authors
The order of authors is determined by the authors themselves and should reflect their relative contributions, as agreed among the author team prior to submission.
Changes to authorship
Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be approved in writing by all listed authors and explained to the editor, who will assess the request before any change is made.
Non-author contributors
Individuals who contributed materially but do not meet full authorship criteria (e.g. technical assistance, funding acquisition alone) should be named in an Acknowledgements section instead.
